Dr. Suzanna Brown

Suzanna F. Brown DVM has been actively involved in the veterinary profession for 18 years.  She is a life-long resident of Atlantic County and a 1998 graduate of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.  She earned her degree in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in 2003 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Veterinary Public Health via distance education from the University of Iowa.  Dr. Brown is federally-accredited to perform veterinary duties for the United States Department of Agriculture-Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS).

After graduation, Dr. Brown practiced in Egg Harbor Twp. for 3 years as an associate veterinarian.  She then developed a vision and a plan to provide the most exceptional care for companion animals in the south Jersey area, and opened Best Friends Veterinary Hospital in early 2007.  Today, the practice is in high-demand and growing, thanks to her loyal clientele and caring, expert team of veterinary healthcare professionals.

Dr. Brown lives in Somers Point with her husband, Deniz, their twin daughters Brooklyn and Cheyenne, and a cat named Snickers.  Her personal interests and activities include spending time with her family at the beach, canoeing and camping, and exploring the natural beauty of the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

Our team:

Sandy D'Amico is our Hospital Manager and a veterinary technician.  She and Dr. Brown have been working together since 1993 and she has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field.  Sandy lives in Egg Harbor Twp. with her husband, 2 poodles named Mickey and Millie, 4 indoor cats and many outdoor cats that she cares for.  She enjoys the beach and boardwalk and likes to spend time with her children and grandchildren. 

 Dr. Jessica Schoell

 Dr. Jessica Schoell is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  Her professional interests include surgery, diagnostic imaging, and emergency medicine. 

Unable to resist the lure of crazy sleep patterns and adrenaline-laced nights, she worked two years as a full-time emergency veterinarian before transitioning back to general practice to spend more time with her husband and son.

When she is not being a veterinarian she enjoys quilting, making jewelry, playing the occasional video game, and spending as much time as possible with her family. 

Kathryn Wright has been with our practice since February 2010.  You may often see her at the front desk but she is learning veterinary technician skills and works alongside the doctors as well.  Kathryn runs her own pet sitting business and enjoys reading, going to the beach and listening to music in her spare time.  She lives in Somers Point and has 5 cats:  Lilly, Gremlin, Stuart, Merlin and Quentin.

Erica Kuddar has been with our practice since January 2011.  She is a veterinary technician, and has spent her whole life wanting to help animals.  Erica lives with her two sons in Mays Landing, and they have recently acquired a new dog, Babarino!  She loves spending time with her pets and going on vacations with her family.  

Evanie Silva is our dog groomer.  She has been offering her professional, individulized, show-quality cuts to our clients since 2009.  Evanie's attention to detail and her gentle, caring and calm manner keeps her clients coming back again and again!  She lives with her family and pets in Egg Harbor City.
